The Lake Superior Squadron is part  of the Commemorative Air Force (also known as the CAF). The CAF is an all-volunteer organization of women and men devoted to keeping vintage World War II aircraft flying and honoring the people who flew them.

We are currently restoring 3 World War II era planes. One is a PBY-6A flying boat we are restoring to flight status. We also have a 2nd PBY-6A we are restoring as a display. Finally we have one Marine OY-2 Sentinel we are restoring to flight status.

We also operate 2 museums, one located at our hangar, and another collection at the Richard I Bong Veterans Center. Both museums primarily comprised of WW II era artifacts but contain a mix of more modern items as well.

The Lake Superior Squadron is located in Superior, WI. Our hangar is located at the Richard I Bong airport and is normally open a couple times every week for visitors to check out our museum, our planes, and our restoration projects. We also host or are involved with many exciting events every year.
